Blindness and Eye Injuries

The range of injuries that can be experienced to the eye may be as minor as a slight abrasion to the cornea that will easily heal by itself to the permanent and complete loss of sight. Any injury to your eye can be extremely distressing and, in the worst case scenario, leave you feeling extremely vulnerable. If your sight has been lost or damaged due to the negligent behaviour of another then you may be entitled to make a claim for compensation.

There are many different scenarios in which your eye may be injured due to negligence. These include:

  • Assault or attack
  • Extremely bright lights, possibly from your working environment
  • Chemical burn - this could be due to the use of a hazardous equipment at work without appropriate protective clothing
  • Grit or other debris could cause an abrasion to your cornea
  • Head injury Bruising to the area surrounding the eye

An eye injury, especially one that results in the partial or complete loss of your sight, can be extremely traumatic and Foot Anstey has a long history of dealing with cases of such a sensitive nature. We also pride ourselves on being able to explain the legal process to you in an easily understandable way, and relieving some of the pressure and stress at what is undoubtedly a difficult time.
