Andrew is a senior partner in the clinical negligence team working primarily from the Taunton office. He has a particular interest in birth injury claims and has concluded a number of multimillion pound settlements for children who were brain injured as a result of birth accidents.

Andrew has extensive experience in Court of Protection cases instructed on behalf of the Official Solicitor. Andrew’s experience of acting for learning disabled adults has included acting as joint lead solicitor in the group action against Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust (a claim involving 160 claimants) and for families with members at Winterbourne View.  

Andrew is a member of the Law Society's and AvMA's clinical negligence panels. He was also a speaker at AvMA's Autumn Cerebral Palsy Conference.

Recent cases:

• Birth injury claim v MOD with a value of £8M plus
• Birth injury claim v RUH Bath NHS Trust with a value of £5.5M
• Negligent management of hip procedure led to £42,500 compensation
• Delay in diagnosis of problem with graft surgery on leg, resulting in a below knee amputation, subsequently contracted MRSA which resulted in further surgery, leading to an above-the-knee amputation. The trust admitted liability and causation and the case settled for £180,000.
